Day Five

I am not going to post any pics until I get a few questions about "rights" clear in my widdle head. At least nothing that I think might be first time or republishable. Not for now anyway.

Oh, I can't stand it; here is a little sketch I never finished. It's Mom related.

Day Four, He played knick-knack on my door.

Ok, I'm going to keep it short and am not posting a comic today because I just don't have the time. Hopefully I will catch up tomorrow.

The one thing I want to make clear today is that my DMV is HORRIBLE and run by mean people. I had to show up there TWICE today because the last time I was in there they told me SPECIFICALLY what documents to bring in to get my lost DL replaced and today I show up and they say that STARTING TODAY, one of those documents are no longer accepted. I drive all the way home and pick up a copy of my marriage license that could have been forged by a five year old and my lame copy of my social security card that I think was crayoned by a four year old and Wah-La-Freakin_La I have my license. It makes no sense. I was so mad I think I spewed some blood out my eye, and I bowled like crap tonight.

Day Three

Busy Busy But What Have I done?

I’ll start with another Mother’s Day Cartoon. I know it’s not until May 13th but I have a lot of Mom related Cartoons (and unfinished gags) in the vault.
I've had a good day as far they go. Having not gone to bed until 1:AM, I lounged in bed until 9:45. This is always a good way to feel like you got a jump on the day. I got in a little screen time with my son in Germany. We link up with MSN messenger then use the microphone and camera so it's just like being there. The video is not that great due to the stutter but the audio is as good as any phone call. We did the same thing when he was in Iraq. I don't know why anyone would waste money on a phone call. I got to see Kris, His wife and the kids. My grandkids. I hate that I don't get to see them that often but it really helps to be able to visit over the computer. I can go see them cheaper now that they are in Germany. It's cheaper to fly there than to Texas. I had the option of driving to Texas though. I don't know a good way to drive to Germany. I haven't flown for over ten years at least and I remember that I watched this little rivet vibrating the whole way. I also watch for that gremlin on the wing.

Soon after that I had to go help with the shopping and such. That takes up WAY to much of a day. Then I HAD to fumble around with a scanner because I'm trying to get a ton of sketches into the computer so I can dump the ever-growing mounds of paper. Plus I need a way to organize my cartoon Ideas so that I can access them better. I am constantly going through folders and find a napkin folded up with a gag sketched out on it and think, "I need to work on this. I wish I could keep it handy and up near the front burner!" but fold it up and put it back in the folder in the drawer because I just don't have the physical space.

Side Thought
I THINK I want a tablet pc so that I can draw straight onto it when I'm out and about. To take the place of a sketchbook. I say "think" because I just don't know yet. If it does like I envision it would then that would be hunky-dunky but I get the nagging suspicion that I will be disappointed. I don't know why. I just do. I don't even have a decent Wacom type tablet for the desktop because I can't make up my mind what size or model to get. If anyone has any pointers on that subject please let me know. I'll be here fretting.

Time Flies

Day Two
I spent a large chunk of the day at the stained glass studio helping my daughter work out a project she has to do for Girl Scouts where she leads a meeting while showing them how to do a project. It's shaping up pretty well. Then I ran down and bought a 3500 volt amp generator so I can run the essentials when the power goes out. I live in Alabama where tornadoes are a real concern and the power goes out a lot. You don't want your freezer full of food going bad on you!

We finished up the day by going to see our friend's son Brett play little league baseball. I love it, He went home and had no reason to slide but did a beauty anyway! Kids are so funny.

Shout out to my Son who is in Kaiserslatern Germany for the next three years. He's in the Army. I'll probably talk more about that later.

I have to run for now. I have stuff to do. Here is a Mother's Day Cartoon I drew a few years back. I like it.

Day One. Take it easy and let's not get fancy mister.

Today is my birthday. This is my first night with the Blogger. I shan't get fancy at this point. Heck, I may never get fancy. I don' t have tons of time to be at the computer unless I'm doing something I need to be doing and it usually isn't making web pages purdy.

I'm giving out a shout-out to Marky Mark. He runs Jabberous and if you want to see what real bloggers do then step on over to his booth and see what he's cooking. He's a right fine artist who draws funny pictures and what-not. He calls me Cousin Kirky.

I draw funny pictures too but right now I don't have a fancy web page. I'm just setting up sticks right now. I won't even start to dig footings for a few days I'm sure. That's a construction metaphor just in case I lost you.

Well, I guess I better go. I have stuff to do.
